Research Interests

Jennifer's interdisciplinary research falls under the broad umbrella of Holocaust memory, and is animated by questions about what is remembered, who carries those memories, and what survivors wanted future generations to remember.

A corollary to her work on Holocaust memory is her work on Holocaust education. She sees the two as intertwined; put simply, we can’t teach what we don’t remember or prioritize as important.

Her research in the area of Holocaust education has explored what preservice teachers know about the Holocaust, the efficacy of new technologies for teaching and learning about the Holocaust, and what best practices for teaching about learning about genocide really are.
